For example if you own a site at www.iownthissite.com then you when you add a sub domain it would something like www.my.pictures.iownthissite.com. This is great for when you have a lot of stuff on a site that is not related.

In order to finalize your added domain, once you have went through the steps of adding your DNS. You are going to simply click add domain and enter in the URL of it www.myurl.com. Hit submit and you are ready to get into your FTP and begin working on your webpage.
